USA Wins Gold

The USA Men's Basketball Team won the gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The Americans defeated Spain in the final, 118-107. Kobe Bryant led the way for the USA with 20 points, while Pau Gasol led Spain with 29 points. It was the USA's first gold medal in men's basketball since 2000.

The USA got off to a slow start in the tournament, losing their first game to Greece. However, they rebounded to win their next seven games and reach the final. In the final, the USA jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. They led by as many as 24 points in the second half before Spain made a late run. However, the USA was able to hold on for the victory.

The USA's victory was a major upset, as Spain was the defending gold medalist. However, the USA team was simply too talented and too deep for Spain to handle. The USA had seven players who scored in double figures in the final, while Spain had just two.

The USA's victory was a fitting end to a dominant Olympic run. The USA has now won 14 gold medals in men's basketball, more than any other country.
