Back-to-Back Gold for American Fencer

History Made as First Black US Woman Wins Silver

WEB Kiefer, a four-time NCAA champion and 2018 team world champion, has won back-to-back gold medals in foil fencing. Her teammate, Lauren Scruggs, made history by taking the silver medal, becoming the first Black American woman to win a medal in foil fencing.

Kiefer was born into a fencing family and has been competing since she was a child. She has won numerous medals in both national and international competitions, including 12 team Pan American championships and 13 individual Pan American championships.

Scruggs, who is also a member of the US National Fencing Team, has quickly risen through the ranks in recent years. She is known for her aggressive style of fencing and has won several major tournaments in the past year.

Kiefer and Scruggs' success at the Olympics is a testament to their hard work and dedication. They are both role models for young fencers and have helped to raise the profile of the sport in the United States.
