Derek Clancey Set to Leave Vancouver Canucks
Hockey Executive and Former Player Derek Clancey to Join Toronto Maple Leafs
After 18 months as an assistant general manager with the Vancouver Canucks, Derek Clancey is leaving the NHL to join the Toronto Maple Leafs. Clancey will assume the undefined role with Chesapeake.
Derek Clancey, a St. John's, Newfoundland native (born April 16, 1969), played professional hockey from 1991 to 1999. He was the first person hired by Jim Rutherford when he became Canucks president of hockey operations in 2021.
